If so, then you may want to consider using the NUPS patcher. While I haven't tested it myself, I'll guide you through the process of setting it up and using it to patch your Mother 3 game. First things first, you'll need to create a dummy save file for your Mother 3 game. To do this, start by loading an old save state that's around halfway through Chapter 2. If you've gotten really far with your save states, then you might want to consider just keeping going instead of creating a new one. Once you have your dummy save file set up, load the Mother 3 game and select "New Game." Talk to the first frog in the game, and then overwrite the dummy save file. This will allow you to use the NUPS patcher without any issues. Next, navigate to your homedirectory (which is usually located under the House icon in the left-hand menu of Finder windows) > Library > Application Support > Virtual Boy Advance > Battery Saves. You should see a folder containing all of your save files. Look for the file with the same name as your Mother 3 patched ROM (without the extension), and replace it with the dummy save file you created earlier. There are several UPS patchers available, including NUPS, TsukuyomiUPS, and UPS Patcher. These patchers allow you to expand the storage space of your Virtual Boy Advance games by creating additional save slots. To apply a patch using the NUPS patcher, follow these steps: 1. Open the NUPS patcher software. 2. Click on "Apply IPS Patch" to browse for your IPS file (which contains the hack you want to play). 3. Select the IPS file and click "Open." 4. The patch should now be applied to your Mother 3 game. It's worth noting that I'm not sure if this method works with games that have already been started in save state, so you may need to test it out for yourself to see if it works.
